It was wonderful to have the day to myself. I woke up at 1030 which NEVER happens! I guess the girls came in and turned the light on, but I slept right through it. Once again, I was up for a couple of hours last night, so I needed the sleep. I had an orange, and bread, butter, and marmalade for breakfast. I spent some time on the computer catching up on emails and facebook, unpacked (since my suitcase finally made it!!!!) ate a late lunch, and then the girls came home from school. I taught them Phase 10, then we geared up to go outside in the snow. We had a small snowball fight, spent a long time rolling snow for a snowman, and tackled each other. Snow in the face is very cold! Gloria sat on my lap as I taught her a very easy song on the piano; you know, the kind that gets annoying after you play it a couple of times. We made a fire, drank tea, watched cartoons, and sang to Disney songs. I found some graph paper, so I made the girls word searches. If they didn't understand the English words, they had to ask. They then had fun creating word searches for me, using both German and English. I am slowly beginning to understand more of the language, even if I can't hardly speak it. I also taught Gloria the response "you're welcome" after someone says "thank you." She is so cute! I brought fun animal socks with me for all of us girls, so we had fun wearing them around the house.
I tried to help Helena with her English homework, but had to "phone a friend" (aka facebook) since grammar was never my strong subject in school.
All in all, it was a great day!
