HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I was expecting to sleep late today since we got to bed so late, but I woke up about 3 hours after going to sleep. I refused to get up so slept for another couple of hours until 10:30 when I finally admitted defeat and got up. Town people were out next door cleaning up the firework garbage at the town hall.
I quietly went downstairs and made myself an English muffin, orange and a cup of tea which I ate in my room as I watched Hallmark movies online. I practically had the entire day to myself since everyone slept until about 2:30pm!
When they did get up, they watched a nature program. There was this humming bird whose neck changed colors depending on which direction his head was turned. It was awesome! Mark made a comment about nature being beautiful. Nothing can come close to nature itself. I was also struck by the awesomeness of nature, but for a different reason. I gathered up enough courage to say “creation definitely points to a creator, huh?” No comment.
I got to skype with the family for about an hour and see Wendy and Bobby! AND the church finally has a sign AND its up! WOOHOO! Praying the Lord sends more families to worship with us this year.
For dinner, Mark made hashbrown patties and Nancy made a salad. Then we watched a movie: The Rock. It was really good!! A great action movie, although I felt conflicted in which side to go for. I was prepared to go to bed, but Mark wanted to do a double feature, so I quick took a shower, the girls went to bed, popcorn was made, and we settled in for another movie: Demons and Angels with Tom Hanks. It was about the Catholic Church. I was never more thankful for my freedom and PERSONAL relationship with Christ tonight than ever before!!
