Saturday, February 12

I wrote out a list of chores that needed to be done today to get ready for Mark and Nancy’s company. Helena put on the cleaning song for Enchanted and we got to work cleaning the kitchen (after breakfast, which Gloria made for us), getting the dining room set up and peeling potatoes and onions.

I read and took a little nap while I worked through feelings of homesickness and wishing I was with my family at my cousins funeral. Thank you to those who prayed for me this weekend!

When the guests arrived, we stayed long enough to say hello and then the girl and I headed for the mall in Potsdam. Helena was nervous we wouldn’t find it, but we had no problems getting there. Getting back home though proved a little more difficult. We ended up going way out into the country and about 30 minutes out of the way, but we eventually got home. Everything looks different in the dark! We had fun at the mall going to different stores, eating dinner and ice cream, and each of us finding one article of clothing to buy. I finally found some workout shorts! Right before we left, we stopped at the grocery store and picked up some groceries we were out of and Sanella (shortening) for making banana bread. We wanted to make banana bread, but when we got home I realized I didn't have the recipe, so grandma sent it to me.
